Job description	Web Publishing Systems Developer Apple is seeking two seasoned web development / data architecture systems professionals to join the Apple Online Store Worldwide Publishing Systems team. This is a great opportunity for an experienced software engineer or IT professional to move over to the business side and leverage his or her technical skillset to have a direct and meaningful impact on Apple’s business. The Apple Online Store Worldwide Publishing Systems team is newly-formed and chartered with transforming the systems, tools and processes that enable the AOS Worldwide Publishing Operations team to bring the latest Apple products and content to Apple’s e-commerce website (www.apple.com/store). Our mission is to improve the business team’s velocity and flexibility for making changes as well as increase the quality of the information presented to Apple’s customers. We’ll do this in parallel with Apple Online Store’s growth into new markets, new customer experiences and new platforms. You will be responsible for: Defining and executing the strategy for architecting and managing the online store’s metadata, taxonomy, content, catalog, and digital assets so that the store can scale to new geographies, languages, segments, platforms and personalized experiences.  This involves: •Knowing the publishers (your customers) and their existing processes and tools •Capturing the businesses demand for new website features and functionality that have a high reliance on publishing capabilities •Creating a vision for new best-in-class tools and processes that will support the business demand and enable the publishing team to support the business goals •Articulating the vision to technology teams who will build the tools and to business users who will adopt the tools and processes •Driving adoption of these tools and processes through readiness planning, documentation, training and support You are: •Smart •Self-directed •Process oriented •A web technology expert •Organized •Detail oriented •Articulate •Passionate about managing data •Willing to roll up your sleeves and get your hands dirty with the messy world of working with users and solving their pain You can: •Listen •Evangelize smart solutions and processes •Communicate effectively to senior management regarding risks/benefits of solution options •Write and own requirements documents, functional specs, test plans •Bridge the communication between technical and business teams •Plan workload and coordinate resources •Work with development, QA and deployment teams You know: •Web development languages / technologies •Large scale, global content and product catalog systems •E-commerce •Publishing •Principles of data architecture and taxonomy management  This is a challenging opportunity to build best in class solutions for both web and Cocoa based applications.
